PrimeMore Universal
Let's talk about PrimeMore Universal, the basic of the primer family. Whether you’re dealing with walls or floors, interiors or exteriors, this blue wonder has got you covered.
Mixing:
PrimeMore Universal is easy to mix and apply, making it the go-to for many tilers. To get started, dilute the primer 1:3 by volume with clean, cold water. That means for every 1 part of PrimeMore Universal, add 3 parts of water. Stir thoroughly until you’ve got a uniform mixture ready to work its magic.
Application:
Applying PrimeMore Universal is a breeze. Use a paint roller to spread the primer evenly over the prepared surface. Avoid over-applying and make sure it doesn’t pool in any surface depressions. Depending on how thirsty your background is, you might need a few extra coats. And don’t forget, each coat needs to dry completely before you move on to the next. Plus, it's coloured blue, so you can easily see where you've primed and where you haven't, ensuring no spot is left unprimed.
Coverage:
Wondering how much you'll need? Coverage will depend on the texture and porosity of your background. As a rule of thumb, 1 litre of PrimeMore Universal, when diluted at a 1:3 ratio, will cover approximately 30m² to 44m².
Background and Surface Preparation:
For the best results, your background needs to be dry and strong enough to handle the weight of the tiles. Cleanliness is key – make sure surfaces are free from dust, dirt, oil, grease, and other contaminants. Timber bases should be well-ventilated and stable enough to bear the load without flexing.
Suitable Backgrounds:
PrimeMore Universal is versatile enough to prime a variety of surfaces: Cement - Sand Render, Cement - Sand Screed (including Heated), Concrete, Concrete Blockwork, Plywood Overlay (Class 3), Plasterboard, Tile Backer Boards, Plaster (finish coat). - For these backgrounds, apply one coat of PrimeMore Universal diluted 1:3 with clean, cold water. Depending on the surface porosity, you might need additional coats. Just make sure each coat is completely dry before moving on to adhesives or levelling compounds.
Areas of Use:
PrimeMore Universal is your all-purpose primer for Walls, Floors, Interior surfaces, Exterior surfaces, Porous/absorbent backgrounds.
Drying Time:
At a standard temperature of 20°C, PrimeMore Universal dries in about 30 minutes, making it a quick and efficient choice for any tiling project and also gives you just enough time for a quick sandwich and drink break!
So, there you have it – PrimeMore Universal, your trusty sidekick for any tiling adventure. Easy to mix, simple to apply, and reliable on a range of surfaces. What more could a tiler ask for?
